How does laser hair removal work?
Laser treatment targets the dark color of the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. Thus, the root
of the hair is compromised with little effect on the skin and surrounding tissue. Since melanin
is only produced during the growth phase, the laser light must target the hair follicle during the
appropriate portion of cycle. Even in one given body part, not all follicles are in the growth phase
of the cycle at the same time. Thus, these treatments need to be repeated at strategically spaced
intervals over the course of the hair cycles. This assures us of subsequent hair growth prevention
and that the hair follicles are disabled. The laser hair removal procedure not only
remove hair above the skin, but additionally makes sure you no longer see the dark hairs beneath the
skin's surface, sometimes known as the five o' clock shadow.

What types of hair color and skin color can be treated with laser hair removal?
While laser hair removal can be performed on virtually any skin color and hair type, hair color is the
most important factor. The light emitted from the laser is attracted to the melanin, or dark pigment,
in the hair follicle. This means that dark hair is treated most effectively. Treatments performed on red,
blonde, and gray hair are not generally as effective. Our multiple laser modalities allow us great versatility
for accommodating the most variance in hair and skin color.
